E. Mavronas

Evangelos Mavronas was born in Corfu, an island with great artistic tradition in several forms of art, but especially in post-Byzantine art.
Mavronas himself is a follower of that tradition.
His encounter with the art of icon painting is as experiential as it is educational.
He began his studies at a very early age with masters in the art and with the great icon painters of Mount Athos. Today, he continues this tradition of teaching with the few selected pupils that study in his workshop.
As a result of years of research, quest, and experience, the paintings of Mavronas encompass his deep knowledge of tradition and techniques and are wholly complete works of art.
